WHERE WE BEGAN
MEZKUI began with a dog born in the Sonoran Desert. She was the co-pilot on the road and companion on the trail. After she was gone, the brand became a way to carry her memory into something useful for other dogs. That is where our story begins, and why the desert remains part of it.
OUR KIND OF OUTSIDE
Our idea of being outdoors owes as much to surf culture as it does to the trail. What draws us in is the informality: making time for something you love, finding your own rhythm, and having a sense of humour about it. There is room in that outlook for dogs, detours and days with very little planned.
HOW WE SEE DESIGN
We like useful things with an unexpected detail. Designing for dogs gives us practical questions to answer, but it doesn’t dictate a single look. We take the purpose seriously without making the whole thing feel serious. That balance, between something that works and something with personality, is where we want MEZKUI to sit.
